CUBE and SOLUZ, both are Dutch architectural firms, have made the Brouwersgracht Apartment. Finished in 2008, this 2,153 square foot modern apartment is situated on the 1st level of a historic warehouse on the Brouwersgracht in the middle of Amsterdam, Holland.

In the building, a dividing line has been sought between keeping the historic beams and floors, as well as minimalistic new add-on. The wall in the space which separates the two rooms has been opened up. The new additions such as kitchen as well as bathroom would be clearly identifiable as such in terms of materiality as well as shape.

The open floor program will fits the thought of the autonomous designed additions to the ancient monument.
